S Cap Public Hearing

The South Capitol Street Corridor Project advanced another step by holding the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (SDEIS) Public Hearing on January 22.

Held at Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, the hearing was organized by the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to present the SDEIS, take formal comments on it, and share with the community the latest project schedule.

For those unable to attend the public hearing, you can review the SDEIS here. Comments can be submitted by filling out a comment form at www.southcapitoleis.com, by emailing them to ddot.awi@dc.gov, or by mailing them to Mr. EJ Simie, P.E., DDOT/IPMA 55 M Street SE, 4th Floor Washington, DC 20003. All comments must be received by the close of the SDEIS public comment period on February 2, 2015.

Soon to be the largest in DDOT’s history, the project also will serve as a linchpin between the southwest waterfront and the rest of the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative (AWI) Program area, which stretches to the city’s northeast border with Maryland.
